Avril graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1991. She completed her Vocational Training in the practice and continued on working while it was owned by the Crighton family. She has owned the practice since 2002 and went into partnership with Angela in 2006 to form Discovery Dental Care.
Avril enjoys all aspects of dentistry but has a particular interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry including implant restorations. She has completed a 3 year course in Advanced Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry. Other dental interests include facial aesthetics and she is a Invisalign Go provider which provides orthodontic treatment for the cosmetic zone. The practice has been a Vocational Dental Practitioner Training Practice since 2009. Both Avril and Angela work as joint Trainers supervising and assisting newly qualified dentists.
Avril is also a member of the Local Dental Committee. Avril works one session a week as a Speciality/Visiting GDP in the Restorative Department at Dundee Dental School. Outside dentistry, Avril likes to keep fit by attending the gym. She keeps bees and is on the East of Scotland Beekeeping Association committee. Spare time is spent enjoying time with family and dogs.
