Childsmile
Discovery Dental Care is a Childsmile Practice.
Childsmile is a programme designed to improve the oral health of children in Scotland.
From six months old children should attend the dental surgery every six months.
A programme of Childsmile Care includes:
~ Oral Health advice (weaning, diet and toothbrush instruction)
~ Twice yearly flouirde applications from 2 years old
Extended Duty Dental Nurses are able to provide this treatment. Sammy Colvin is our dedicated Childsmile Nurse and she is trained in oral health promotion and fluoride application.

Dental Vocational Training
Discovery Dental Care is an approved and current dental vocational training practice.
We must meet specific criteria and have regular inspections to ensure we meet the high standards required.
Fully Trained
All our staff are fully trained and adhere to strict guidelines with regard to decontamination and infection control.
We have an on-site decontamination unit, and take infection control very seriously.
All dentists adhere to the General Dental Council Standards for dental professionals.
